    Default New way to save animals stuck on ice:

    I like these videos where deer or in this case a young calf is being rescue by a helicopter. The same pilot saved two deer the same way previously.

    Gosh, I was holding my breath the whole time! Was he trying to blow the calf to the shore or scare it? I couldn't tell.

    The prop wash creates a strong wind that blows the animal off the ice or least close enough to shore for some one to rescue it with a rope. The video of the deer was better but I don't have that link right now. Without the helicopter these animals would have died on the ice or in the water if they fell through. The pilot is news helicopter pilot but I love the fact he does these good deeds, but of course it is also great news and good PR for their service.
