Default Happy Canadian Thanksgiving to all my Weggie friends around the world

Just had a wonderful dinner with family and friends and was thinking about how great it is to be able to have these awesome people at my house to eat, drink, laugh and hang out and listen to noisy kids play. In May of this year I couldn't even imagine this moment (I remember a couple of weeks after the hospital seeing a mom and her toddler walking down a sidewalk as we drove by, and I started to cry because at that moment I couldn't conceptualize myself having the strength to ever do that again - how wrong I was - thankfully.) Tonight we didn't do the formal thing with an official 'thanking' at the table - not enough room to sit everyone at one table in my postage stamp size house - but I just hung back (and ate like a pig - a pred pig ) and enjoyed each and every nanonsecond of the evening.

So what I wanted to say here is that I'm thankful that we Weggies are all able to sit up at our computers and click away at our keyboards from all corners of the world, transcribing our thoughts and sharing our fears and joys and our experiences with each other. The operative words in that sentence - 'sit up' - much better than the alternative I think.

Thanks you guys for, well, just being you.

    So very true Marta,
Always looking for the positives, I totally appreciate everything that happens to me on a daily basis, even typing this from the hospital, as the alternative is a non brainer! When I returned to work after my DX my friends were taken aback by my happy smiley couldnt care attitude (OK I was on a pred high!)
Congratulations on your Thanksgiving Dinner, Mmmmm I feeling hungry!

Happy Thanksgiving Canadian friends!. I heard a Canadian (Rick Mercer, who will be familiar to Canadians) on our national public radio Saturday explaining the differences between Canadian and American Thanksgiving holidays. It's about 6 minutes long, so sit back, relax, and enjoy a bit of light banter!

Just as you say, Marta. We may have vicissitudes others can't imagine, but there is this one thing good: We "met" each other on Andrew's wonderful website! I'm thankful, on Candaian Thanksgiving Day for that! On this day of Thanksgiving in Canada, perhaps the rest of us can be honorary Canadians.

I agree! I'm so grateful to have each of you in my life, I'd never have words to explain it. Well, I know you all feel the same. Happy Thanksgiving to us all.

You can be honorary Canadians any day you like - we Canadians like that.

Rick Mercer is hilarious. He came out to my little town and did a bit here with a coworker of mine (I work for Parks Canada - when I actually work) here's the little thing he did with Steve in Jasper if you wanna get a giggle and see the mountains I live in. (This is why there are no specialists anywhere near me - ha ha)

Thanks elephant, I feel like I've done something right in a past life to be here in Jasper in this life. I really feel like I have a piece of heaven, as do the other 4,500 people who live here. It's an exclusive club, just like Wegener's - ha ha.

That is hilarious Sangye, and Steve is a funny funny guy, he really held back because Rick Mercer is a much funnier guy and it's his show...
