    Default Drug interactions??

Carter will have his first dose of Rtx tomorrow. They said they would also start him on Imuran (not sure of spelling). They gave me some info on it and he is taking alot of the meds that they say not to. He is on
    Ctx
    Bactrim
    cozzar
    pepcid
    30 mg pred
Is anyone else on these meds with any interaction problems???

Several of the drugs I take have interactions or contraindications for things like poor kidney function. However, my doctors are aware of this and have assured me that the dosage and monitoring mean that it is OK. I would imagine that this is quite common with the cocktail of drugs that we take, but if you are worried you should talk to your specialist about it.

It is always good to talk to the specialist about these medicines and your concerns. You will feel much better.

The most important thing to know is how the drugs interact. For example, Bactrim interacts with Coumadin (blood thinner) by increasing its activity, so your blood clotting ability decreases. Someone on both drugs might need to decrease the amount of coumadin until they're off Bactrim. Other drugs interact more dangerously. Ask Carter's docs to thoroughly explain each interaction.
