Gummi baeren for sure! I'd not heard of the gummy bear contest before, and sadly reegret I am too old to play it with any dignity because it sounds seriously fun, Sangye!
I hadn't heard of jellie babies before (they are kind of creepy...), but assumed they must be something like gummi baeren. When I was a child, they came in one flavor, which you had to walk 6 miles barefoot in the snow, uphill both ways, to procure. I'm not so sure we didn't have to add the flavor ourselves. They were two for a penny at the grocery store and the candy shop. It was a primitive time when children were dirt-smudged little scamps in rags, and bad children were kept in cages, but every child loved "cinnamon bears", the one flavor. When they started showing up here in big bags of a bazillion gummy bears in different flavors, I thought back to my childhood depravation, and said to myself, "I'm going to eat the whole bag at once!" Which I did, with no regrets, the first time.
