Sangye, thank you for clearing up what your interpretation of MILF is.
I have to say I've always known it to stand for something more profane!

REALLY???? Omigosh, I had no idea. I'm new to this whole "abbreviate every stupid thing we say" thing. I'm not gonna use it anymore--I mean if it's commonly used as something bad (and I gotta say, I can't figure out what that would be) then someone new on here might get the wrong impression about us. Like we're gangsters with Wegs or something.
I don't want to offend anyone with an explanation, but I think I first heard it while watching one of those "American Pie" teenage party films.
It starts "Mum I'd like to..." - I daren't finish and will happily remove this post if anyone is offended.
LMAO=Sangye
LOL--okay I know what THAT means!
Even with your clues, Luce, I couldn't figure out what that stands for. So I finally googled it and wouldn't you know, it showed up on Yahoo answers! It's awful. I actually might go back and delete my post. I mean, I'm cracking up laughing, but you know.
No no leave it. It'll increase the hit rate on the site no end LOL

Ohmigosh I can't really believe we're discussing such a thing and that poor Sangye had to go to Yahoo answers! I should have PM'ed you the whole thing to save you the trouble.
I admire your innocence Sangye! Or perhaps some of us have been too corrupted by the shocking media considered as entertainment!
Asking you directly was my Plan B if I couldn't find it online. I'm not so innocent as I am ignorant! Anyway, it made for some hysterical laughing between me and the friend who drove me to JH today. I was really down-- cytoxan is giving me major nausea and I'm all kinds of wiped out-- and it lifted my spirits to share the whole thing.
I'm glad we've had a chuckle, I was a little nervous of highlighting your faux pas and also thought that perhaps it was only me that had heard of the 'other' meaning
Apparently it comes from the movie American Pie. (Along with fast food, one more American export to shudder about. I'm sorry, World.) I'm probably one of the few Americans under the age of 60 who hasn't seen the movie.
I do like pie, however.
