    Default Weggie on chemo

Since most of you know, my Wegeners is in remission, and I'm doing fairley well since my WG-diagnosis four years ago.
Last summer I had a new heavy issue: breastcancer.
I had my first chemo today. It is called TAC, en there is Endoxan in it, in a higher dose than used in the treatment of WG/GPA.
The oncogologist thinks that my WG will not interfere with my breastcancer. I hope he is right.
He said that we have several white bloodcells. The leucocytes and the granulocytes. The treatment for breastcancer approaches different white bloodcells than the treatment for severe WG.
Can anybody tell me more about this?

I am glad my treatment is going well till this point.
Had excellent care of the nurses today, that diminished my fears a lot.

    Sounds interesting Christine.

When the leukocytes were sky high in my white blood cells, they thought I had Lymphoma :/
I wonder what the difference is between the two.

Best of luck with your treatment.
I'm sure you will kick it in the butt like you did with WG and you will be in remission in no time.

    I wonder too.
I'll ask the docs more about these white bloodcells and their amount in my blood.
Feeling fairley well today, with all the extra medication I take for nausea. It works!

Later this afternoon a nurse from the care-organisation will visit me at home,
to give me an injection to stimulate the forming of new white bloodcells...

So sorry to hear about the breast cancer. I'm glad to hear you feel your treatment is going well, and I hope that continues until you are safely in remission. You will be in my thoughts.
