    Re: Transplant

Blood results are back and although my ALT (Liver test) is still elevated, it's dropped a lot, so heading in right direct.
My kidney function has dropped from 43% to 37%, but I'm not too concerned...

Did you read the instructions on how to use Budesonide as a nasal rinse? You need to make a proper mix of distilled water, a saline little packet (sinus rinse) and budesonide. It is in the...

    Re: Transplant

Update after my recent (telephone) appointment.
The lead transplant nurse is concerned about the ALT liver test so check with the head transplant Dr to see if I could wait until my next routine...

    Re: Coronavirus and GPA

    Hi Alysia,
I hope you can continue to order groceries online or over the phone. As so many people are self isolating and the whole country is almost in lockdown, all delivery slots are fully booked...

    Re: Transplant

    Hi Alysia,
My COVID-19 symptoms were fairly high temperature (37.6C/99.68F), shivering/shaking uncontrollably, severe headache, severe fatigue and generally feeling awful. Didn't have a new...

    Re: Coronavirus and GPA

It's a tough call. Your wife has a good point, but as symptoms don't appear for 5 days, the people who are contagious now won't even know it. But this isn't going to go away any time soon, so how...

    Re: Transplant

I'm due my monthly transplant clinic appointment next week, but due to COVID, it will now be a telephone appointment. Therefore I went for blood tests (nobody else waiting thankfully) and immediately...

    Re: Coronavirus and GPA

My wife works at a supermarket. Supermarkets are where the largest crowds are, so the chance of infection is VERY high. It's also where people who are just beginning to feel ill rush to, to stock up...

    Re: Coronavirus and GPA

It's not just Italy who are having to deny treatment to the most vulnerable.
It is happening in the UK. An elderly gentleman was suffering from COVID-19 and when their daughter phoned 999 (911...

    Thanks Natty.
I did another update a couple of weeks ago, but it doesn't seem to be showing.

    Re: Transplant

    Another quick update.
Kidney function is still fairly stable. It's dropped from 40% to 38%, but so long as it doesn't drop below 35% I'm happy.

I've also had my appointment at Addenbrooke's with...
  19. Re: A new year, new possibilities! (MikeG's back)

Good to see you back here Mike!
That's great news about the knee and well done with the weight loss. I put on about 20 pounds soon after my transplant last March and I'm struggling to get rid of it....
  20. Re: 41 Years with Wegeners - Not a Relapse after all - Squamous Cell Carcinoma

    Hi Kim,
You have the same attitude as me. I would rather know that I have something serious so that you know what you're up against and can begin the fight, rather than not knowing, even though you...

  22. Re: How many got the Wegners or GPA Dx without a bx?

Kidney biopsy confirmed diagnosis and most of my relapses/flares, but I have also had flares confirmed without a biopsy.

    Re: Transplant

Just a brief update on the kidneys.
For the last 3 months my function has been very stable at 39-41%, so it looks like 40% is going to be my long term level, which I'm very happy with so long as it...
