    Re: Coronavirus and GPA

I don't get on the forum that much anymore. That doesn't mean I'm totally well or terribly sick, but rather I'm just overwhelmed by doctor appointments and trying to keep my drugs in stock. I'm...

    Re: Wegener's and Graves disease

I don't have Grave's, but I also don't have a thyroid, since it was removed 5 or 6 years ago. I would think the methimazole would work fine. I see it has the normal doom-and-gloom side effects...

That's the way I read it, Masha. No pred would definitely be nice. However, surely there are some side-effects with this drug. Let's just hope they aren't bad.
  4. Re: prescription process- the path from the Dr to the Pharmacy

At least you found something out. That's great!
  5. Re: How many got the Wegners or GPA Dx without a bx?

Pred and mtx (low dose) would make you feel better if you had any number of different diseases; not just wegs. So, who dx'ed wegs? I was suspected to have wegs, but it wasn't confirmed until my...

    Re: Medical Cannabis

As soon as pot became legal in WA, I tried a variety of things to see what might help the pain. Since my neighbor owned the local pot shop, I was able to get free stuff from damaged packages or...
  7. Re: prescription process- the path from the Dr to the Pharmacy

Interesting that no one mentioned the cost of rtx or, at least, I didn't see it mentioned. The reason I mention it is because it is semi-expensive, so I can guarantee you that it is going to get the...

Bad deal, indeed. Annekat and I are both of WA, so if we are anywhere close, let us know.

I'm on the road traveling, but didn't forget. I haven't been very active, but that means I'm having a good time. Happy birthday, mate, and cheers. Now I have to figure out if I can do PayPal from my...

Hi, Lena! I'm not on here as much as I should be anymore. It means that things are going well for me. However, your comment about developing arthritis in your hands intrigued me. I have also...

    Re: Nine years

I forgot all about mentioning my anniversary, because it was the same day my Dad died and I was somewhat distracted. 21Apr2010 was the day they removed and biopsied my pituitary. Things changed a...

My blood and spit was sent to Mt Sinai, Cleveland, and New Zealand. Have no idea what happened beyond dropping it in the FedEx pouch.

I don't believe psychologists in the US need any medical training, but I'm not sure about the UK. I'm assuming you are from the UK based on your statement "Plus a few bits more." -- that sounds very...

Saw the above on your tag line. I'm on steroids every day. They will probably be the major cause of my demise. Not to mention, I gain weight constantly.

Indeed, everyone does offer advice -- yoga, marijuana, walking (oh, that's painful), and even "stop taking all those meds". Excuse me? Stop taking all those meds? Sheeezee.... :-)

    Re: Disease extension/spread

I have to agree with John. My doctor told me my GPA was "localized". And, it was, at first, but then it spread. I think "localized" is a better descriptor than "limited".

Brilliant reason to go to Hawaii, Tom! I hope it works. My joint pain subsided for a while today. I doubt its the start of a trend, though.

I was going along quite smoothly, or, at least, as good as I thought I was going to get. So, I tried over the last year to really avoid doctor appts. Things started to take a change for the worse...

    Re: Disease extension/spread

Sorry to hear this, Tom. My guess is yes. I think the joint pain could very easily be GPA related. My pain generally roams around -- tonight its shoulders and legs.
