Another Warrior has lost his Battle!
"There will be a memorial service for Mike on Wednesday June 20 at 10:30. First Baptist Church Arlington in downtown Arlington.
You are all invited. I would love to see you and get a hug if you are able to attend.
Following the service, my family and I will gather in a designated area at the church for a time of visiting. I hope I get a chance to see everyone who comes."
Love, Barbara

Re: Another Warrior has lost his Battle!
RIP Mike.
He was a member in the forum if I remember correctly. @vdub, can you put a candle for him, please ?

Re: Another Warrior has lost his Battle!
I'll get that done. We haven't had a death (that I know of) in quite some time. I'm assuming this is Arlington, VA. Let me know if wrong.

Re: Another Warrior has lost his Battle!
I will miss your posts on facebook and the pictures of your beautiful family and grandkids, and also your gorgeous dog.
I haven't been able to find the real cause of his passing yet, but he did have a leg wound that would not heal and over the past couple of weeks, has had many hospital visits and a multitude of antibiotics, that didn't seem to be working.
He also had an RTX infusion at the beginning of June, and I guess that didn't have time to kick in before he passed away.
I do know that he was in hospital at the time and was surrounded by his family.
Texas will miss you.
Rest in Peace Mike. Forever pain free :crying:

Re: Another Warrior has lost his Battle!
Michelle, I'm not really sure what happened with Mike either. I did know that he would fly to CC to see Dr. Villa-Forte until the last couple years ago when he changed his care more local. I think that traveling became to much for him. He did start having many more infections in his legs and had had to go to rehab to get them healed at times. He was dx'd in 2011 and he traveled when he could. He had a large family and was very involved in his Church. I will also miss all his pictures of his ranch, travels and family including Holly his dog. He is out of pain now.

I doubt that Polly was a member of this forum, but she was a warrior from near my hometown nonetheless... http://m.legacy.com/obituaries/canto...0&preview=True

Rest in peace Polly.
I see that she lived 88 years. Not too bad for a weggie. @vdub, can you please put a candle for her ?
-
Re: Another Warrior has lost his Battle!
Certainly can! Consider it done....

Re: Another Warrior has lost his Battle!
Oh Polly, you sound like a wonder lady.
I wish we could have known you here.

No. Info was not given in the obituary. I don’t know anyone in her family to ask.

Re: Another Warrior has lost his Battle!
A very dear weggie friend of @pberggren1 and I, and many others here, passed away a week ago, Alice from Dothan, Alabama. She was only 46 years old and died from cancer. She was sick with wg since she was a teenage and one of her first docs was dr. Fauci. She was a sweet caring lady. Tears flowing when I think about her passing. There were still so many things that she wanted to do on earth...
May she rest in peace in the presence of Our Lord.
@vdub, can you, please, put a candle for her on our map ?

Re: Another Warrior has lost his Battle!
Another wg warrior flied high, Lisa MacNutt from Little Rock, Arkansas.
She was infected by covid and it started a chain of breathing problems. They tried the vent in order to calm down the issues in her lungs and it seemed to be helpful, although eventually it was not.
She was kind, full of life, strong and beautiful. She loved the sea and the oceans.
@vdub, can you please light a candle for her on our map ?
RIP Lisa. Say Hi to my sweet Phil and to our other friends. The forum above is growing. Until we meet again.

Re: Another Warrior has lost his Battle!
I will certainly do that, Alysia. I tried last night, but the system wasn't accepting my admin password and wasn't resetting it. I have contacted support. Thanks, vw

Re: Another Warrior has lost his Battle!
OK, Alysia, it is done. I offset the candle a little bit from Little Rock so that it would show up from those that specifically specify Little Rock.

Re: Another Warrior has lost his Battle!
Thank you, vdub.
I hope that you are doing well. If you feel like sharing how are you doing, please do. Although I guess not in this thread but in another ...

Re: Another Warrior has lost his Battle!
With a heavy heart I wanted to update that our dear @Jaha passed away on Oct 2, same day as my sweet @pberggren1.
Jana was such a sweet friend, always supporting and kind. May she rest in peace in the presence of Our Lord.

@vdub can you please put a candle for her on our map ? She lived in Albany, Ohio.
I hope the others are doing well.

Re: Another Warrior has lost his Battle!
I was very shocked to read that Jaha/Jana had passed away.
I thought it was the same day as Phil but of course in Oz, we are a day ahead, so I wasn't sure.
Jaha did have back surgery a few weeks before her passing, but I believe she was home and doing well.
Rest in peace beautiful lady.

Re: Another Warrior has lost his Battle!
It has been done. You are right, she was a nice lady. Thank you for helping keep track of these things. vw

Re: Another Warrior has lost his Battle!
I did not know Lisa, but I read back today and see that she really put up a good fight against this disease for many decades. I learned a lot from reading many of your posts dear Lisa. Rest in Peace.

Re: Another Warrior has lost his Battle!
Our beautiful Lilly/Lisa. Gosh it was so hard to call her Lisa on fb after knowing her on here as Lilly.
What a wonderful person, and such a sad loss to us all.
Yesterday another Weggie passed away after covid went through her household over Christmas.
Patti Peterson Sullivan from Dudley Massachusetts wasn't a member here, but I am mentioning it for those that knew her
and also for everyone else, to still remain vigilant as far as our immune systems are concerned.
