Question about disability

I guess this is aimed for US members of the group. Has anyone had any experience applying for disability with Social Security? In looking, I see WG/GPA as one of the listed adult ailments that qualify you. I took an early retirement incentive that was offered due to my working conditions and always being sick. I was actually in the hospital my last 3 work days, My plans for working have definitely been derailed at this point. Any sharing of what to expect are appreciated. Thanks!
