Nine years
Nine years ago today, (4/24/2010), I had a left lung resection, they took 38 grams, for a better biopsy, prior to that I had an unsuccessful needle biospy. I had been sick for a long while, with one thing or another. They were trying to solve the puzzle of what all the cavitated masses were in my lungs. I had a rash, pneumonia, my feet grew, my joints and they were acting up in 2008. I was coughing up piles of mucus and was starting to get really exhausted.I also had jaw pain, joint pain, hearing loss, and high fever kept creeping up. It finally took a friend making me go to Cleveland clinic and get evaluated. They sent for my biospies, took their own scans, bloodwork and a team of docs to analyze the data. They called me at work to set me up with an appointment with to meet my Rheumy. In Sept.2010
I was dx'd with Wegener's and started my treatment plan. I was ANCA negative, so it was the Scans and the biospies( from a local hospital) that finished that puzzle. I am still here!!💜

Re: Nine years
Jana, happy anniversary ,we're all happy you're here.
Biopsies are the most accurate way of diagnosing vasculitis.
Hoping you're well at the moment and good health continues.

Re: Nine years
I forgot all about mentioning my anniversary, because it was the same day my Dad died and I was somewhat distracted. 21Apr2010 was the day they removed and biopsied my pituitary. Things changed a bit after that....

Re: Nine years
April 2010 I was trying to wake up from intubation and learn to try breath again on my own. Must have been a bad month for Wegs for at least three of us so far on this thread.
