………….and offered you a wish to remove ONE symptom from your current WG status and return that symptom to pre-WG, what would you choose and why?

I think I’d wish for my energy levels to be returned as there is so much I used to do that I can not do now and that leaves me so frustrated.

But what about you?

That my sinuses would be normal, meaning no stuffy, congested, sneezing, facial pain, eye pain, ect..

That my legs and feet did not hurt.

That my adrenal glands would be strong again. The weakness causes low energy, dependence on pred, and possibly the lower extremity swelling I have which keeps me from exercising.

most days I would say the sinus issues... but the past few days I would most likely say the issues with my thumbs and forefingers. Discoloration/cold/ now intense pain... the fingers have become too painful to use and as I write this I am typing with only my 'birdy fingers'....

It would have to be ear, nose, and throat for me.

Definitely my feet. Stenosis is bad but surgery fixes it.

I would wish for energy levels with no hip or back pain and the ability to breath when I walk more than 50 feet.

I agree with Terri, for me its the all over muscle pain and weakness as well as swelling in hands a feet.

Energy and strength for symptoms, but what I'd love more is that sense of self awareness, and sense of control and knowledge I use to have. Now it's all uncertainty and guesswork and a strange weird place to be after knowing my body so well.

I so know what you mean Marta. I just have to guage from day to day. I never make big plans any more like big trips or work around the house. I just don't have the energy and not much money for travel seeing as I have not had any gainful employment for over 7 years now.

I can relate to this Marta, I still struggle with not being able to predict or anticipate what is coming.

This is really a tough choice for me. Right now the symptom i am hoping most to get rid of are my recurrent bladder infections which is probably more of a side effect of treatment than due to WG. it keeps me from making much progress in treating the WG .

The WG damaged my balance and inner ear which screws up my walking but so does the lack of endurance. I also miss my hearing and declining vision from cataracts is becoming more of a problem but I suspect if (when) I get into a good remission the lack of energy will be biggest adjustment to accept.

I hereby grant drz an exception to the Fairy Godmother One Wish rule. And if no exception can be made, he can have my wish. :)

I would give my wish to any one of you. I am very fortunate that my WG was caught early and my symptoms are no where near as advanced as many of yours. I admire everyone here for how brave you all are and, even when you are suffering worse than others, you give so much support to everyone, no matter where they are with their diagnosis. You are all a great group of very special people.

Thanks RPylican, so glad yours was caught early. Thanks for being on this forum.

This is harder than it sounds.... I think I would bargain with the FGM, probably piss her off, and end up getting a big, warty nose on top of it for upsetting her so much when she was just applying the standard "one wish" rule the head of the Fairy Godmothers set back in 1237 AD. Dang FGMs! Now I have to wish the big, warty nose off instead of asking nicely to be free of peripheral neuralgia, especially in the feet, which comes and goes.

Don't mess with magic, Hammy8241, would be my message to the forum. Everyone would admire deeply my magical, new nose, however!
