Sorry I missed this Randy. I haven't been treated with Remicade however I have seen many who have been (if it's any help at this stage).

hi Randy, are you still using Remicade? My husband just got the first infusion on Feb 24, the second one on March 10 and will have a third one next week. My husband had an acute flair up of WG and it is refractory to standard treatment. This is what his doctor send me:
Aggressive forms of Wegener's granulomatosis, which were refractory to standard and intensified therapy, may be due to the existence of an autonomous vicious cycle cascade of TNF‐α production [3 (http://rheumatology.oxfordjournals.org/content/42/9/1124.full#ref-3#ref-3)]. This may be substantiated by a signal transmission with the NFκB pathway [4 (http://rheumatology.oxfordjournals.org/content/42/9/1124.full#ref-4#ref-4)]. We propose that TNF‐family gene expression may be resistant to immunosuppressive therapy, and only TNF blockade may be capable of disrupting the vicious cycle cascade.
Conclusion. The data suggest that infliximab may provide an effective and more specific therapeutic option in the treatment of active WG refractory to standard treatment.

I'm very curious to know how you are doing, why your doctor opted for Remicade and if the treatment was successful. I hope with all my heart that your WG is on remission.

The Remicade trial(s) showed that it's ineffective in treating Wegs. (I had asked Dr Seo awhile back.) But we are all so individual and I'm glad it worked for you!
