I thought this was worth posting. The weight gain has sure made my life harder--emotionally and physically. Dr Seo said the only chance I have of losing weight is if I can get more active. Nothing left to clean up in my diet. Stupid pred!

If you remember a while back I was down to 89kg, then slowly crept up back to 96k. Well I am back in Poland and do a lot of walking and not being at home, I don't have to cook for my hubby and so I don't eat as much. In 2 weeks I lost 3kg. If all goes well I should be back to 89 before I go back home. So yes, I can safetly agree with Sangye's doc, only excercise and moderate diet will shed the pounds. That is if only we can do it.
No easy answers here. Strong will power and all - that is the only IT

I think I'm the only one on here suffering from weight loss. :(
I'm now classed as Severely Malnourished.

Jack, that's awful. We have to find a way for you to get calories and nutrients in. :(

I've only seen my weight described like that on one chart. My BMI is 14.4

Even though I'm on Prednisone 7 mg and that just got recently lowered...I have gained 4 pounds...well I have to admit I have been eating very bad and hardly exercising...that's because I am traveling from one city to another visiting family and friends in the Chicago area. All we do is go out to eat and have desert! Can't wait to get back home and eat and exercise normally!

That's scary Jack. If you don't mind me asking how much do you weigh and what is your height? I am 5'10" and weigh 160lb. How do you calculate BMI?

Jack

Use a calculator such as - Food Standards Agency - Eat well, be well - BMI calculator (http://www.eatwell.gov.uk/healthydiet/healthyweight/bmicalculator/)

I'm 6ft and only 106lbs. I used to be over 200lbs !

Yes, perhaps I could become a Super Model. ;)

I probably already have all the nutritional information I can handle and have tried lots of different suplements. The fact remains that if food gets stuck in your throat when you eat and then you have an upset stomach for a couple of hours after a meal, food looses its appeal.

22.9 is realy good. Well done! :)

Jack, you're definitely a super model. Just stick to the catwalk, though okay? No more Hollywood entrances down stairs. :D

Don't be too concerned, my weight has been stable for a while now so although I can't seem to put any weight on, I think it is reasonably under control. At least it made the nurse's job easier while I was unable to move in hospital. ;)
