Wow! You are going Germaine?

I would love to go but don't have enough money.

I think I remember reading on here somewhere that JanW might be going as well.

Yes, I am going! My family and I will make a vacation of it; our families are in Northern California.

It's great that you can go. You can meet each other and also fill us in on what they say.

That's right. We have increased appetites and decreased visual acuity.

Jack:

I noticed there is a West Midland Vasculitis Support Group Metting on Sunday October 24, 2010 at Hilton Birmingham Bromsgrove Hotel. Have you ever gone to one of these meetings? It says Professor C.O.S. Savage, Professor of Nephrology, MRC Center for Immune Regulation will be speaking as well as Professor P.A. Bacon, Department of Rheumatology, Medical School will also be speaking. Have you heard of these guys?

Jack

Yes, they are my consultants.

I tend not to attend support groups and similar. Perhaps I'm a bit antisocial? I prefer to deal with things on my own, although it is nice to chat on this forum. :)

That one does look like it might be interesting, I might make an exception. It is very close to where I live.

Wow!

I only noticed it because it is being held in Birmingham which is where you live. It's good to know that the top docs are your consultants. I'm curious, what is the approximate population of Birmingham?

Jack

Around 1 million.

Am I the only one immature enough to giggle about the names Dr Savage and Dr Bacon?

Okay, yes. I'm sure I am. But still... Bacon and Savage...LOL...No wonder you don't feel so well, Jack! You're at the mercy of Savage Bacon! :D

I laughed too when I first saw those names.

Jack

It is probably because I'm vegetarian that they treat me bad! ;)

ps. Dr Bacon's title is actually Professor. Oooo...... They all bow down to him, but he's OK

My other consultant was Dr Adu. He retired recently after treating me for over 20 years. He was very strong on his support for patient's rights and I'll miss him. He was head of department, but very approachable.

Sounds like you are still in good hands though.

Jack I was wondering what is their theory on Prednisone? If you see them, ask what Bacon and Savage think.

My other consultant was Dr Adu.

Sorry Jack, but this all sound like much adu about savage bacon (did I mention I love theatre of the absurd? LOL)

Our town had Drs. Coffin, Jekyll, and Bone (orthopedics). I also know of Drs. Teeney, Sugar and Graeve. Wouldn't you at least consider changing your name?

I know a Urologist here by the name of Arwini - pronounced: are weeny.

Anyway, with the Symposium coming up I am wondering who all from this site is going besides Germaine and Jan?

Hi, I don't have any equipment that records anything, but will try to get some material which I will try to pass along here if it seems suitable. I will try to take a few pictures, but then I always have some problem transferring them to sites. Guess it is just one more thing I need to learn. Sometimes necessity is very inspirational. I have been planning to try to get a picture on here for over a year, but never seem to get past step one. I never used to procrastinate, but I sure am getting skilled at it. I guess thats the "new me"

I wish I could go, too. Mostly I wish I could go to anything that far away or different!

My doc (Philip Seo) is speaking on a few of the panels. I wonder if he'll reveal his very good sense of humor, which he's quite famous for.

My husband, daughter, and myself will be attending. We are hoping to connect with some pediatric wg specialists in our neck of the woods (CA). The San Francisco doctor listed on the VF website doesn't treat kids but was kind enough to refer me to one who does. We are very much looking forward to this event.
