Hey y’all! Hope all of my weggies are resting well. Tomorrow is my first infusion. Can’t say I’m too nervous. I’m usually pretty calm. Expecting a non-event.

Also, I have a question… anyone have issues waking choking in the middle of the night? I seem to be doing this often and have scared the daylights out of my husband. I do have sleep apnea, but I am awaiting my machine. So I am assuming it’s that. Figured I’d check with y’all and see if it’s the same consensus.

Love and light to all!!
Ashley

Update: it was a long non event for the most part. Had a slight throat closing reaction 30 mins in or so and that was addressed with Benadryl. After waiting for that to chill on out, the rest of it was smooth sailing. Feeling a bit lethargic but that’s it. [emoji4]

Hi Ashley,

Good to hear all went well, although the 'throat closing-reaction' must have been frightful.
I hope you can take some rest, and soon will start to feel better in the next few days...:smile1:

Once you have had such an reaction you learn to try get any vaccinations and infusions in a medical setting where they are equipped to handle such allergic reactions. Glad you were able to complete the procedure.

drz Yes, precisely why I chose the place. Everyone was very explicit about one big thing…once the drip started, if I felt different in any way then when I walked in, I needed to tell them. I was quick to communicate, and they were quick to act. I was thankful. Also it’s noted now for next time to give me more Benadryl at the start IV.

Hi everyone…. Question….
Have any of you had vision issues after Rituxan? I already had peripheral issues in one eye. Now my vision is having a hard time focusing. I can focus fine one second and the next it’s blurry. Any suggestions?

Might be side effect from the steroid.

Pete, they didn’t give me the normal cocktail of meds that I’ve read to be standard. Instead I received 400mg Tylenol and a 50mg Benadryl both orally. The doctor and the nurse said it was odd that I wasn’t ordered the standard and stated after the reaction they would suggest as much to my Rheumy.

Don’t know if I’ve mentioned the plan.
Day 1-1000ml Rituxan ( currently on 20 mg oral prednisone)
Day 15- 1000ml Rituxan ( hopefully with the full standard cocktail)
And then wash repeat in six months.
