Rituximab maintenance

Hi all - what has been your Rituxan maintenance dosage and schedule? I know it can vary a little on case by case basis - but would like to see what range of prescriptions are there from your experience.

I get 500 units every six months. I’ve been in Rituximab for 3+ years and been told that I’m a “poster child” for the drug. My symptoms have been held in check and I take no Prednisone.

I’ve been getting rtx since 2014. Started with two 500 mg spaced two weeks apart. In 2016, I graduated to an annual 1,000 mg dose. In 2020, I was changed to 500 mg every six months (new research said it was better).

In addition to rtx, I was on 20 mg of mtx weekly until 2015 when its side effects became too annoying. Since then, rtx has been the sole wegs drug.

I got off pred in June 2018. I’ve been in a stable remission since 2015.

I got 1000mg as my first maintenance dose today. Next one scheduled 6m out. Will see if it’s 1000mg again or 500mg. Overall the insurance dr wasn’t too thrilled about 1000mg dosage from what I gathered from my rheumatologist
