Doctors in Charleston, Seattle, and Chicago

I'm applying to grad school this summer, and I am trying to make sure there is at least one doctor with experience wherever I apply. Right now, the only schools I'm considering that I'm not sure of doctors in the area are Medical University of South Carolina (Charleston), University of Washington (Seattle), and 2 schools in Chicago. Since I'll be busy with classes all day during the week, I would prefer someone at least in the same city. If anyone has recommendations for doctors in Charleston, Seattle, or Chicago I would really appreciate it! Thanks! :)

I have been going to the University of Washington for 40 years for my Wegener's care. I think I've received good treatment there. I can recommend the rheumy I have been seeing there for a few years now. Dr Gregory Gardner. He stays up to date with treatments, and is just a very pleasant man who really cares. Gregory C. Plus the UW has all of the other specialties a wg patient might want. It's nice to have them all on the same computer system as my information is extensive and often complicated.
Also , when there is spare time the University District is a fun place to hang out. Lots of interesting book stores, shops, theaters, and international food. Seattle's waterfront is always fun to go to.
If you do end up there and want someone to show you around a bit I would welcome any excuse to visit there.

I don't have any experience with the place, but you might want to check into it.

Thanks for the name, me2! Glad to know you have a good team of doctors at UW. And I'll definitely have to check out the vasculitis center at Chicago - I don't know how I didn't know there was one in Chicago!

Rebekah, I traveled from Alaska to Seattle in order to see rheumatologists and other specialists at Virginia Mason. If you look at the bios of the docs on line you'll get a good idea of who is experienced in treating GPA. I got excellent care there. I'm sure there are qualified experts at UW as well. You should not have a problem finding good care if you decide on Seattle. (BTW I'm personally biased in favor of Seattle, not for medical care but just as a great place to be!)

I've never been to Seattle, but have always wanted to visit! Maybe I'll get into UW and end up there. Glad to know there are lots of good doctors in the area. :)
