I have used Flovent, which is the same med as in Flonase except it's inhaled into the lungs. I had to fight with my former non-WG specialist doc who was reluctant to prescribe it for allergic asthma because he thought the MTX and pred, as low as 10mg, were enough immune suppressing that I shouldn't be having any allergies, and my coughing and wheezing were due to Wegs instead. I still felt the inhaled localized steroids would help me and wheedled him into prescribing them. Other doc's don't seem to have a problem with it so I will likely get Flovent again in time for spring pollen season, which is already starting here, at a low level. I did use a lot of Flonase prior to my WG dx and during the early stages of treatment, and did find it helpful, and personally don't see why it would be a problem.

I used it PRN when I get nasal bleeding and it seems to help. Lately things have been good so I have not needed it for awhile.

I am using Flonase while on low dose prednisone and MTX. I have been using this for 3 years with no issues.

Flonase is available OTC these days and I use it occasionally for nasal congestion. No contraindications as far as I know and I find it fairly effective. (I'm not longer on pred but still on MTX.)

QNasl works best against inflammation...and ENT says it travels further...even to the ears where it helped me with muffled ears. Stopped after a week or so of using it...good stuff!

Thanks everyone for your input - I did end up starting it with no negative issues that s far.
