When I left the hospital on July 27th my creatinine was at 4.8 now I'm at 3.6, I've been producing more urine. Should I be optimistic that my kidneys are on their way back?

I hope so. That's what kidneys do. :)

It is very possible they will mend to some extent. My experience Dec 4, 2014 discharge from hospital with creatinine of 4.3 and on dialysis. January 27, 2015 creatinine down to 2.0 and was taken off of dialysis. My urine production never dropped much (1055-2500 ml per day) and I had no other issues like Diabetes or high blood pressure. Best luck to you.

If my calculations are correct, that's an improvement from 10% kidney function to 14% kidney function. Most places in the UK wouldn't start you on dialysis at 14% (unless you were very symptomatic), but would at 10%. So it really is a good sign :hug3:
Hoping your numbers keep improving.
