Hi

At the hospital where I live, in Cardiff, UK, there is no specialist Rheumatology ward, only a day unit.

I was wondering if you might consider signing this on line petition, to submit to the hospital, to help raise awareness and to hopefully, get a Rheumatology ward set up in the future.

This is the link Rheumatology Ward for the University Hospital of Wales (http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/rheumatologyward/)

Thanks xx

I thought Cardiff was a fairly large city and would have Rheumatologists?

I signed the petition as well.

I mean, will foreign signatures be acceptable to those in charge of the decision. I wouldn't imagine they would care what someone in Maryland thinks!

It's a huge hospital! They have a Rheumatology Day Unit, but no ward - so when patients are admitted, we end up on all kinds of different wards - from cardiology, ent, general medical - pretty much anywhere really!
My consulant has been fighting for a specialist ward for about 2 years now, so it's time for people power methinks, lol.

Thanks for singing, - yes, signatures from abroad are fine, thank you xx

LOL-- thanks, Phil. I signed it. It didn't ask for a location anyway!

I signed, Gwen, gladly and because my wish for your three little daughters is to have a happy, healthy Mum! Incidentally, your avatar is so sweet! I presume that's one of the older girls. Adorable!

Thanks to all of you for signing!

I had a call from the local news station saying that they are going to run a news report about this, and I am so nervous about being interviewed for tv!! Having said that, I hope it's going to help the cause, and also raise a little awareness of WG!!! :-)

You GO, girl!!! That will help a lot of people. Maybe someone will get diagnosed as a result. They'll at least get better care if the change is made.

Good for you, Gwen! Have one of you daughters nearby, and that will give you enough distraction so that you sail through the interview before you know it! You'll do great, and we will try to pick up a link so we can view it, topo (just tell us the day, time, and the station- that worked with Cindy's interview)
