Hi. I need to get my rtx on Monday. Since yesterday I felt my throat achy, white spots etc. And as I already know myself, I started on my own amoxcilin which I have being prescribed by the dr. for cases like that (weekends, no docs. All things start on weekends). It will be 48 hours of treatment on Sunday evening. Is it ok to get rtx on Monday ? I dont want to delay it, its hard to get date close enough and my wg is smoldering. Thanks for being here.

Alysia, hi.. Alysia, I know you have a Wg doc, you need to contact him, before. Maybe he is the on call doc. anyway? If not, there has to be one, and since this is serious, I'm sure they will contact him.. please do this, this weekend, today, rather than tomorrow. Please call Alysia? Hopefully you'll post back, saying you did...... Love Deb.

Alysia - Do you have to travel far for your infusion? I know that the nurse would review how I was doing and if there were any issues or concerns contact the doctor. That might be an option if you can not get in touch with the doc yourself before then but as Deb said I do agree and think you should get in touch with your doc today. Let them know what is happening.

Alysia - I had something similar happen with me. I was scheduled to have my RTX treatment and had to go on antibiotic for a sinus infection which turned into athsma. I called my Rheume and he told me to come in anyway and he would look at me before the infusion. He did not like how my lungs sounded and continued the antibiotic. I have my infusion a week later. They will not give you the infusion with any sign of infection.

I can't see why they don't give it with signs of infection.

It just sounds crazy, when some people that are newly diagnosed (and have things going on full blast) get RTX straight away to help stop the spread of WG, or at least making the symptoms worse. How does that happen?

I hope you caught the infection before it grabbed on.
I'm sure Phil will be with you making sure that the infusion goes ahead.

Thank you all so much for your caring. I love you.
The throat feels a bit better today. Still sore but less. I didnt want to call my doc, I was afraid that he will tell me to wait. I dont want to wait. My eyes are too red and I need them. It is complicated here to find a date. If I cancell next one can be a month later. Also, I need to buy rtx at a special order in the pharmacy of the health service I belong to (costs me about 300 dollar) and to bring it with me. It is a delicate med and needs to be in temp of 2-8 c. Only.
I remembered that my seeetie got rtx while having an infection so I decided to go anyway. So I will go tomorow morning. Dr. Phil is coming with me. Thanks for the confirmation for that michelle, makes me tears.. I need him.

It cost me 300 dollar but the health service pay for it more then 5000 dollar for 1000mg. I pay to the health service every month. 300 dollar is the maximum that they are allowed to take from me for meds at every 3 months. Means that my pred will be for free untill April.

It's interesting to hear details of health care in other countries. Sounds like a $100.00 per month co-pay for medications? Did I understand that correctly? Is it under your private insurance or a government system?

Alysia, glad to hear you're feeling a little better. Hope the rtx continues to work well for you. It seems to be working for me. Back in hospital at the moment having my CPAP machine fitted and calibrated.

there is a limit of no more then 300 dollar for 3 months only for meds. I also pay to the health service about 30 dollar every 3 months. this doesn't include payment for visits at docs and clinics and tests like xray etc which costs around 4-20 dollar, depends. labs are for free. BUT the BIG payment is to the "national insurance". each one pays according to his incoms and its a bit less then 10 percent. there is medical national law in which every citizen can choose one of 4 health services and use it as he wishes. we pay small amounts to the health service AND to the national insurance. the national insurance is paying to the health service for us. so the health services are trying to compete to get more citizens and we win. those who get disability and cant work dont need to pay to the national insurance and they get money from them each month. I hope I explained ok. after all it is a decent system.

Thank you so much for your caring, dear Deb. you are such a sweet & kind friend and I love you.
they were totally neglectful at the hospital. even though I told the dr. that I need to tell whats going on, he didn't come to listen. I waited patiently, then the nurse started the IV. I told her about the throat infection so she said: if you were telling me at the begining I wouldnt let you do it. But the dates she had were only for February, I didnt want to wait anymore. Then when the ugly doc passed by I told him that I asked to tell him and he didnt come. And he said: we know all your symptoms. I said: how can you know if I didnt tell you ? He said: its written in your doc's letter. I said: its from month ago. There are more things since then. So he said: what more ? I said that I have throat infection. So this ugly doc said the following: its another issue. It shouldnt concern us. You can have also gynecological problems and it doesn't matter.

I was too shocked from this rude careless dumb doc that I left it. Too tired.
it was ok after all. just having also crazy diarhea from the antibiotics.

and I didnt yet rest. I had to work more yesterday and today to compensate for not working on Monday.
anyway I am glad I am after it.

feeling tired and sad. missing my sweetie.

Alysia, I know that doctor, but he is here. Are you sure you're in Israel?

Don't let jerks ruin your day, and more important don't let them ruin your health care.

P.s. too many bad docs every where..

I've seen my share of bad doctors, run away as fast as you can and don't look back.

I've also seen plenty of outstanding doctors.

Alysia, I hate that you were treated this way... In all my time here, on this lovely place called planet earth, one doctor, was, is great. I've seen quite a few, although I was never sick till this, but still, its crazy.... Deb.

Arrogance and ignorance. Of docs. Plus neglect. Killed too many weggies. At least this is how I see it. They killed my sweetie.
I didnt mind much the rude dumb doc. But I was furious at the docs who didnt treat my sweetie in the right way....
He used to make me laugh, when he saw me fighting for him, saying: whew.. I am glad you are by my side..

Alysia, my sweet friend, the vast majority, SUCK!!! This is why. And then an attitude, to go with the fact that they suck, just Realy drives it all home, doesn't it? Not all, no, lots here have great doctors. Some a great one right out of the gates. Others, ya, not so much. As if this thing wasn't bad enough, do we Realy need this as well? It sucks! And they suck! I just got back the use of my left leg, from losing it last night, for no apparent reason. A weird spasm, and then I couldn't walk. But here's the good part. My tongue! Yes, my tongue, it feels as if there's just no protection left at all at this point. Can't Realy eat. Can't Realy drink, can't Realy do anything without pain. Wegeners mouth involvement, lots of fun here. Imagine, if you will, trying to get a doctor to listen to this!!! This all just simply bites.... Then I have family crap, to add the icing to that cake........ Deb.
