View Full Version : New potential drug for ANCA-Associated Vasculitis: Bortezomib

I like to stay on top of the potential new drugs that are being developed and I ran across this one: Bortezomib. They tested it on one patient with microscopic polyangiitis and she was able to stay in remission without other drugs for four years (!!). This sounds super appealing to me as I suffer from a relapse & high-dose prednisone--sign me up for any trials of Bortezomib for WG!

One can only hope for drugs that will permanently put the wegs dog to sleep. This drug seems promising, but it's way too soon to know.

I also hope these new drugs, if they turn out to work for WG, are not as expensive as rituximab! Not holding my breath, though.... somebody's got to pay for all the research and work in developing them. Thanks for sharing this info, in any case!
