So I had to share....my beautiful mother caught a lift with a friend to come and visit me (31/2 hrs away) to give me support and help out (as I live on my own), mind you she is only here for a total of 48 hours basically:

Monday afternoon/evening a nice catch up (comes to doctors appointment with me). Tuesday morning (while I'm in the shower) she decides to vacuum - its only about 2 mins, when I hear a painful yelp and come out to find my mother in agony, she's put her back out ...oh yes I spend the next 24 hours of her visit looking after my mother (getting her to the bathroom and up out of bed etc) I did get her to a local chiropractor the morning of her leaving (heaven only knows how she coped in the car trip home), she could hardly move. I know shouldn't laugh my poor mum, you gotta love her, it was the thought that counts hey!:)

Katwoman, so sorry to hearabout your Mom. I have a very bad back, had surgery once and made it worse. I still go to Chiro. and he just does stretching and massage, but it gives temp. relief.
My problem now is that Mayo does not take our insurance and suggest we go to Cleveland Clinic. There is one in South FL, so guess we might check that out. That will be about a 4 or more hour drive,OUCH there goes my back and sciatic nerve. So anyone ever hear of WG doctors in Cleveland Clinic. I about cried :(when the lady at Mayo said he couldn't even come as pay your own . Oh, well we just keep our hopes and prayers for us to be lead to the right doctor.

I am so sorry about the Mum. I can totally relate to that one. My mother and I are the blind leading the blind but somehow we get things done and remember most everything between the two of us. And laugh really hard while making fools out of ourselves.Love my mom but she is a pain in the butt when she wants to be. good thing I have trained myself to laugh instead of run and hide!! it is more fun to be in on it than be sour when things dont go right.:o

When ever she comes to help me I am the one that does the helping. But thats okay I am glad she is hear for a while never had her around much because of the miles between us 3200. Puts a damper on the visiting thing. So it has been a pleasure to call and say want to go for a walk? Can you pick up a kid? Whats for dinner? all the little things.

DisneyLady,
Dr Langford is in Ohio. I don't know if any of Cleveland Clinic's Wegs specialists are at the Florida facility. If you ask them if they treat Wegs, they'll say Yes. But that doesn't mean they're a Wegs specialist.

I went to Mayo Arizona and had that happen. The doc who treats Wegs there is NOT a Wegs specialist, like you'd find at Mayo Rochester or Florida.

I suggest you call Dr Langford in Ohio and ask her what to do.

I see Dr Langford at the Ohio Cleveland clinic. She is a good doctor and listens to you and even asks if you have any questions. She never trys to rush you off. Since I live in South Carolina, she says for me to call if I have any questions. I see a local rheumy, she really good too. :)
