When I was first diagnosed with Wegeners a year and a half ago my ANCA was 175.6. Now my blood tests are showing negative fo ANCA! My rheumatologist says I do have Wegeners on the other hand my kidney doctor says he doesn't believe I have Wegeners!!!! I'm so confused!!! Can someone please shed a light on this for me? [emoji30] Thanks in advance [emoji4]

Did you take any drugs to treat the Wegeners? I did and now all my ANCA tests are negative. That was the purpose of all the drugs. I also have no B blood cells and normal counts on everything else. Check with Dr. to make sure that was the case.

I was taken off methotrexate in December and recently taken off of prednisone. Do you think it's possible I could be in remission?

I like to think this is what they call remission. I feel good and have no real symptoms. I feel pretty much the way I did before this mess started. Hope it lasts a long time. Good luck!

Yes, if you are not having symptoms of Wegs that are bothering you. You can have negative ANCA and still have active Wegs, but if you are symptom free or have minimal symptoms, then remission is most likely achieved. That must be case for you since they took you off the drugs normally used to treat Wegs, so congratulation on your remission. Have a nice celebration and hope the remission lasts a long time.
