Dr. Sharon Chung is on Vasculitis Foundation from UCSF. I am sure they work together, good luck.

Yes dr Chung returned my message and gave me her name and number so I'm sure she is good. I'll let everyone know. Thank you for the well wishes

Hi Darren,

How did you get on? I've just been referred to UCSF. I've been sick for two years and I'm desperate for a diagnosis.

Nicola, UCSF has a very good reputation for vasculitis care, and I'm sure this will be a positive move for you! If you indeed have WG, I hope you soon get the dx you need.

I had a wonderful experience with UCSF Dr Katherine Yung did laser and dilation on my subglittic stenosis on 12/2/14 and I feel amazing. Dr Sharon Chung returned my phone call and referred me to her. If you need to see a a Rheumatologist go see dr Chung. I hear she is great.

Thank you both, at this point I just want to know. I've been on 30mg Prednisone for two months and it's helping, but I'm still struggling. I feel everything is on hold until I can get a dianosis, whatever it is.

Prednisone won't stop it from it's continued destruction. You will need to be on immunosuppressive medication I sure hope you get a diagnosis pronto. Keep pushing to get In to be seen it's so important to move fast because if it's WG the aftermath scarring and damage is so difficult to deal with. So the sooner you get treatment will help to cut down on the scarring. Good luck to you.

My rheumatologist consults with Dr. Chung so ... while I don't GO to UCSF I know she is there to help when my doctor has questions. I hope you get on well with her!

I live in a small town and my rheumy has never had a Wegener's patient before. I am within driving distance to UCSF and would love to have rheumy refer me to Dr. Chung. And Dr. Yung, too, since my upper airway is currently the main concern. How long does it take to get in to see either of them? Any feedback on your experience(s) with them would be greatly appreciated.
