Is it typical to experience severe headaches with a reduction in prednisone? If so, has anyone found an OTC drug that works better than advil or aleve or tylenol?
Thanks.

Different for different bodies, but, yes, it is common. I've found the best headache reliever, OTC, is Excedrin Migraine...has caffeine in it...duh...

O m g yes : I had huge headaches when I reduced too fast : drop by 2.5 no more I would recommend
And pain killers in the UK that worked were Anadin extra

I agree with Don. Excedrin Migraine has been a godsend.

And I was told never to take advil or aleve (NSAID) with Prednisone... So Excedrin Migraine is the only stuff I can take.

Thanks for your suggestions. I have shared them with my daughter and hopefully the excedrin (which she has never tried before) will do the trick. I'm not sure what the U.S. equivalent of Anadin is- maybe our Excedrin.
