This is an article on what not to do...
Buhl Man with 0.5 BAC Pointed Rifle at Sister, Attempted Own Surgery, Police Say (http://magicvalley.com/news/local/crime-and-courts/buhl-man-with-bac-pointed-rifle-at-sister-attempted-own/article_ac20e3f4-d56d-11e3-9ccf-0019bb2963f4.html)

I hope this isn't what's happening with the Affordable Care Act. Some people are really desperate.

Yikes. It does seem that he needed surgery that he could not afford and insurance would not pay. Unfortunately many are in the same boat as this man. I feel so blessed living in Canada and yet almost guilty as well.

I know that the national health service in the UK has its problems but we are still blessed over here with some wonderful doctors and a nursing staff that any country would be proud of. And it is free at point of delivery. And people pay 9% national insurance from their salary, which covers unemployment benefits as well as medical cover.

I think it would have been easier just too have someone punch him in the nose ( can you imagine the hangover ! ) or why didn't he get nasal strips if the snoring was bothering him ??

Because some people are a few bricks short of a full load.

Because some people are a few bricks short of a full load. I suspect this was the problem with this guy and nothing to do with health insurance or lack of it. Just a suspicion.
