My ENT has prescribed betamethasone for me to inhale with my sinus rinse. He says it has NOT been approved for inhalation into the lungs. My asthma doctor wants me to inhlale budesonide into my lungs twice a day. Budesonide costs hundreds of dollars, and even with my insurance, it costs me $105. Betamethasone costs a lot less...only $30. They are both steroids that come in ampules. I have to wonder why the Betmethasone can't be used for the lungs. I would really like to get rid of the high priced budesonide if i could.

The ENT has emailed info to my asthma doctor so she is aware of this new recommendation.

I am really confused. :wink1: Has anyone taken Betametasone before? How was it administered...inhaled into the lungs or only as a sinus rinse? Did you find it effective??

Thanks for all the help I know I will get.
