So I'm a bit wigged out by my CRP level. It's been consistently between 35-45 (sometimes up to 60) this past year. I don't really have much disease activity other than the odd sore throat, minor breathing issues (much better than before) and some joint pain that comes and goes.

I'm paranoid that the wegs is like... In my brain! I've been having trouble focusing lately and I feel a little "off". My doctor thinks I'm a bit paranoid (truth be told I can be). Also, it isn't really getting worse so he just thinks it might be from steroid use or something.

Does anyone else have a higher CRP and does well/is healthy? I'm just curious.

When I was first diagnosed last August, my CRP was in the 40's. The past few months it has been under 5. Last week it was at 4.6.

I guess the levels may be different in Australia

The average is between 40 and 85 and mine is always between the 80's and 90's
Apart from a stuffed nose and some joint aches, I feel well

On the test results I get back, CRP is measured in mg/L. Hope that helps for comparison.

Diagnosed 4/2012 and no records that I can get to prior to the ones here.

(Normal Scale is listed as 0.00-0.99)

2/1/2013 1.95
3/29/2013 0.73
6/17/2013 1.16
9/20/2013 5.55 -- Flare in sinuses started with MAJOR headaches and raw/bloody sinuses
11/2013 Had 4 RTX infusions
12/12/2013 4.46
1/6/2014 3.35
4/8/2014 0.62 -- Feeling the best I have in a long time, sinuses almost back to normal.

So here's a history that reflects that the CRP DOES have a direct correlation of a flare up--even though my ANCA was negative all along. It has been negative since after my first six months on CTX and the first high-dose of pred. I truly believe my CRP and Sed-Rate in conjunction with my sinuses are going to be my key indicator of a flare up.

Looks like there are different measurements. Here normal levels of CRP are between 0-5.

I have no idea how some of you guys compare to me lol

That is why I put the scale on it for you. Might want to see if there is a conversion from US to Canada somewhere on the net...

I have a friend who always has CRP high. she is relativley healthy, but she has some problems with her coagulation of the blood (I hope that is the correct word).

Carrie. Here the lab goes from 0.0 -0.4. Last June-Nov mine was at .04 and since Dec to present it is at .01.
It weird that you say you think it going to your brain because I sometimes think the same thing. It's like I am stuck on stupid !!! I have to go back and read what I have typed and sometimes ..it's like WHAT ???? I think it is the drugs or hope so !

I was also afraid that it was going to my brain. I just did MRI of the brain which was ok.
the stress of being sick, the fears of the unknown of tomorow, the meds, the fatigue, life.... all are making kind of feeling like the brain is not as it used to be :crying: prob an emotional thing....

Since my rtx treatments last fall, my CRP has been in the 3-11 mg/L range which my docs consider normal.

Yeah, I had the same worries when my Weg started. Since I still had the wound from the brain surgery I was in less than two month earlier, and was recuperating from that, I was real worried that it would affect my brain.... Being on 80mg of pred didn't really help. lol.

Its not a good sign if the CRP levels are high all the time, here is one article (http://www.myhealthwire.com/news/mind-body/191)I found about it. The nutritionist who held a lecture I attended warned about having high CRP levels, and showed some cover of Time magazine were it was discussed (with the name The silent killer, guess that won't help your worries though :)).

Can't remember my values though. They were real high when I was dg'd, but then again I had been in a fewer for two weeks and the antibiotics didn't help..

Ours are measured between 0.0 and 0.5. Mine is currently 1.0. Very low still, I think.

I got this wrong. I was reading Creatinine levels instead of CRP

My CRP reads as 18.5 and the average is 0.00-10.0 mg/L
Pathology reports as mild inflammation only.
