My 28 yr. old son has been diagnosed with Wegener's and is coming home to Troy, MO to live. Would anyone in this forum be able to identify any medical resources/locations he could seek in the St. Louis area when he arrives? Thank you so much!

Dr. Chonko was the quarterback at Ohio State during the mid-1960s (by way of useless but potentially interesting information)...

None are really close, but many of us on this forum drive several hours or fly periodically to see our specialist. In some cases, our local docs consult with VF consultants via phone.

Hope this helps...

We are in IL- St Louis is about a 6 hr drive from here. We go to local hospitals-Advocate and received 2nd opinions from U of Chicago doctors. We would have preferred a trip to Mayo/MN, but it wasn't an option for us.

In 2006 Was living in the St.Charles county area when I became ill. Ended up at Barnes Jewish Hospital (associated with Washington University) where I was diagnosed in early 2008. They would be a place to start for help. I have since left the area. I miss the area often.

My Dr has told me he thinks I have Wegs The lab results were inconclusive but he doesn't want to wait for treatment. I have been on prednisone since Feb. I am back down to 15mg now. He mentioned at my last appointment he wanted me to get a 2nd opinion. Since he wasn't familiar with the disease, he wants to make sure he is treating me correctly. I was wondering if you had found anyone in Missouri yet?

Hi Nelle. Welcome to the family. I take it you are in Missouri? I would contact the Vasculitis Foundation for a list of docs close to you that could manage your disease.

Hi Nellie and welcome.

I sure hope that you do not have WG, but if you do, then you have come to the right place.
