Hi All,

I have a ANCA PR3 of 8 and and a crp of 120.

The doctors have me booked in for 2 x 1000mg doses of Rituxan.

Has anyone had this and did you get a long term remission or any releif from symptoms.

Not having cyclo as I still want more kids with my wife.

I am a bit worried but at this stage the inflammation is so high I have no choice.

Cheers.:biggrin1:

Lot of us have had RTX and results will vary. All the meds take awhile to work their "magic" so patience is necessary while you wait to see the results. Results also vary but think positive and expect things will get better with treatment cause they usually do.

Most research suggest that RTX is superior to cyclo. It is more direct than cyclo, so causes less unwanted side effects.
I think the only reason why RTX would not be used as first choice (unless you've previously had a reaction to it) is the cost.
All medication has risks, but I'd personally think RTX is the best way to tackle WG at the moment.

All I say is be patient. The first time it took about 6-8wks for me to feel any better and I was low down and sick as ever. The second time I bounced back in about 4wks. This last time I didn't have any Wegenerish symptoms but they did it for remission. I believe it is a lifesaver.

I'm kind of in the same boat with you. My wegs specialist in Cleveland has recommended the same treatment. I'll be working with my nephrologist here in Columbus and new insurance carrier. Could get interesting in that regard. I did 16 months of cyclo after dx, so that drug is no longer an option. (My wife and I are in our mid-60s, so family planning wasn't a concern.)

Let's keep each other up-to-date on how our treatments go.

Good luck and better health.
