skin cancers

i have just had two skin cancers removed, one came up overnight (well nearly) the plastic surgeon
said i will see him again as with the WG lower immune system they will appear.

does anybody have problems like this?

I’m so sorry to hear this, Janet. Hopefully it was caught early. I went to the VF Symposium this past weekend and in one of the lectures I went to someone said they had skin cancer. We are supposedly at an increased risk for it, and she said her doctor recommended going to the dermatologist yearly. I live in Florida where it’s impossible to avoid the sun and after hearing that I made a note to make an appointment with one.

I have had 2 skin cancers removed with MOHS surgery and they are called DFSP. Dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans (DFSP) [1] (http://www.wegeners-granulomatosis.com/forum/#cite_note-1) is a very rare tumor (http://www.wegeners-granulomatosis.com/wiki/Tumor). It is a rare neoplasm (http://www.wegeners-granulomatosis.com/wiki/Neoplasm) of the dermis (http://www.wegeners-granulomatosis.com/wiki/Dermis) layer of the skin,[2] (http://www.wegeners-granulomatosis.com/forum/#cite_note-urlDorlands_Medical_Dictionary:dermatofibrosarcoma-2) and is classified as a sarcoma (http://www.wegeners-granulomatosis.com/wiki/Sarcoma). There is only about 1 case per million per year. DFSP is a fibrosarcoma (http://www.wegeners-granulomatosis.com/wiki/Fibrosarcoma),[3] (http://www.wegeners-granulomatosis.com/forum/#cite_note-3) more precisely a cutaneous (http://www.wegeners-granulomatosis.com/wiki/Cutaneous) soft tissue sarcoma (http://www.wegeners-granulomatosis.com/wiki/Soft_tissue_sarcoma).

The first was pre-diagnosis and the second after. Not sure if there is any relation but it'snot a cancer caused by sun exposure.
