So I had an appointment last Friday at Cleveland. And the intern noticed that I had eye lessions (little bumps really) on my eye lids. The doctor and the internist discussed and declared that they were cholesterol lessions. I thought that odd as I though my cholesterol runs low and they've been on my eyelids for years now...even if a bit less noticable.
SO I came home and looked up labwork, and it's been consistantly 120-130 for LDL...which by all accounts is pretty good. I looked around for other possible causes and landed on Primary Biliary Cirohsis when cross referencing against other issues I've had. Now I was diagnosed with cirhosis of unknown cause that they attributed to my weight at the time. It seemed logical that it was weight related, so I really didn't question it much. But Biliary Cirhosis is an auto immune disease and has been linked to other Vasculitis types so now I'm curious. Adding in the my gallbladder ruptured at some point in the past now I wonder if I'm having a bile duct issue similar to my vasculitis (affectively biliary cirhosis attacks bile ducts the way vasculitis attacks blood vessels).
Gonna make an appointment with my regular doctor to just see what his thoughts are. I might be able to get back into my previous internal medicine doctor, but don't want to waste time at a specialist if I'm way off base.
