Well the days of using a straw and whistling could return! This Thursday my oral surgeon will be closing the holes in my sinuses. When I last saw him he wasn't sure how he was going to do it because of the unusual size. Usually they use a titanium mesh however the success of this would be lessened with a large hole therefore possibly needing to take some hip bone to put in there. I am wondering what experience others have had with this and recovery of it - Thanks!

Had surgery for a deviated septum, Eustachian tube, and a small hole in sinus area. No big deal, but the ENT's method was different in that she used a 'substance' for the sinus, then cut and sewed natural tissue from each area. Was very little bleeding, no soreness to speak of, and was blowing my nose lightly in 4 days.
