I got my C-ANCA results yesterday for when I had it drawn on June 8. It is now 6, up from 2 on April 15. I went back to the lab today to have all my blood work done again. I should have the ANCA results by July 9. Hopefully it hasn't increased and is down from 6.

My ANCA results don't seem to follow the way I feel so I don't even ask anymore.

My last ANCA was up from 54 to 112 (after my month in europe), the lowest i've been is around 40. My lymphocytes are low 0.4, but i feel good, so I don't pay that much attention to the tests unless they are totaly out of range and just go by how I feel.

my 1st good doc did not make much about ANCA #'S.
Dr Falasca who studies wg now over 15 yrs said to me my organ functioning labs were more precise. He also said there is increasing disputes about negative and positive ANCA results and not reliable according to more recent studies.

Phil,

After reading the posts answering to your ANCA results, I get the feeling people are suggesting that you worry more about how you feel. So How do you feel? My ANCA results were around 6 and I feel absolutely fantastic!
BTW-I went to my final ENT appt (at least for now) So happy things have progressed to this point.

I'm feeling not too bad. I still have a fairly low energy level, but it is better than what it was 2 weeks ago.

Yeay Lisa, happy life. Phil I assume you have the same test in Sask as I do in Mission, so 6 is nothing to worry about, here I am with now close to 200 (after 200 they don't even like measure it anymore) and I'm happy. Just a bit worried because since I came back to Poland my left foot is like Doug called it ham swollen, in the morning its better but thru the day gets worse.:(

Mine has only been up to the 30's when I flare.

Thanks Doug. I am feeling much better today. Friday night was my first night back to work in 5 weeks and I found it very tiring but last night was much better.

Good Luck Phil, Going back to work after a 5 week period can be daunting. Listen to your body and take every chance to rest before you "hit the wall". Starting to freak a bit about the ANCA results being mentioned here. When I was diagnosed just a year ago, mine was in the 700's but has come down steadily to about 120 and shows no sign of decreasing. That said I feel good and lead a fairly normal "active" sort of life with just a few "down" days in the week. I wonder if the ANCA measurement over this side of the pond relates the same to you guys over "there"? (Please excuse my ignorance if you all burst out laughing at this statement!!) Had my 6 weekly check up on friday and still learning about MBF.

Geoff, don't freak out (well, not over the ANCA. Save it for something better, like finding out they're out of snickers). There are two ways of measuring the ANCA, but for the life of me I can't remember the names. One shows up as a smaller number, and the other is a ratio, like 1:520. Your 700 is probably the ratio one. My ratio one started out as like 1:125 and by last fall was something like 1:4,200. It rose steadily, despite the fact that my Wegs was increasingly under control.

My Wegs doc has done a lot of the research about the accuracy of ANCA when used to follow disease course. It's so unreliable in all but a very small number of people that he doesn't even order it for most.

My ANCA is shown on the results sheet as U/ml. My C-ANCA has ranged from 1 or 0 up to the low 30's.

Thanks for clearing that one up Sangye!! How did you know snickers were my favourite?... Here we go, back on the food trail.
