After a protracted asymptomatic "pnemonia" last December with hemoptysis for a couple of months, my pulmonologist gave me a WG blood test (160) and two weeks ago a lung biopsy.

Have yet to get the lung biopsy results, my pulmonologist has rescheduled the appointment twice. I need a new specialist in the Portland Oregon area whom I trust to actually have a conversation with me and schedule ample appointment time to do so.

Anyone have any suggestions on finding a WG specialist in the Portland Oregon area? Well, this is assuming my pathology results are going to confirm the "diagnosis."

You seem like a great group.

Welcome Marcie...yes, this is a great group of people! You'll find lots of info and empathy on here from all over the world. I'm from Portland (Beaverton) originally. To my knowledge at this time, there are no WG specialists in the area...I believe you'd have to go to Stanford for that. But, OHSU has recently treated an acquaintance for WG...he was under the care of an opthamologist who has dealt with WG before. While I don't know his name, I do know he works out of the Casey Eye Institute. Please ask and share anything you want on here...someone is always on and likely to respond. Best to you.

This IS a great group. I hope you will find a recommendation soon. Once you have a name...don't let the office staff pawn you off to someone else in the office. It is often the bozos who have time in their schedules to fill! If you hold firm, and you insist that they tell the doctor that you have a wg diagnosis...they will probably find time in their busy schedules. It is a rare disease, and should pique the interest of a good doctor. At least that is how I got in with one of THE top pulmys in our area. So....long story short...WELCOME!

Hi Marcie.
I have to say the same as Rif, or along those lines.
I am in Australia so unfortunately cannot help in your search.

I hope you find all the information you require and the best treatment from a specialist who can help you.

Good luck and I hope things improve very quickly
