Length of Imuran Treatment

Can anyone tell me how long the coarse of Imuran treatment is? I was on oral cytoxan for 3 months then switched to Imuran for 9 months and counting. Is it a life long thing? Thanks for your help.

Ask your doctor what they think about length of time you may need to take the drug. Your doctor knows your history and symptoms and can give you a better answer. For me it is apt to be a long time as I am starting my third year.

DRZ, I was on Cytoxan for 6 months and now been on Imuran for 15 months. I started out with 200 mg/day, down to 100 mg/day now. I was told by my doc (Nephrologist) that I would probably remain on it for the rest of my life, maybe at a lower dosage, but would need to take it for ever. I'm also still on 5mg Preds/day and may be taken off of Preds by April 2013. Good luck.
