I have WG and have been in remission for almost 2yrs now. YAY! I take Imuran Daily (thats all). I wanted to get a tattoo, but was a little nervous being immuno comprimised. Anyone else get a tattoo and have any problems. Or any info about it would be appreciated!
Thanks Tracy

I was dx last June (2011) and take imuran and bactrim for daily maintenance. I got a tattoo at the begining of June this year on the top of my foot. It was spur of the moment so I didn't ask my doc ahead of time. I haven't had any problems!

Ask your Weg doctor. I would guess a tattoo wouldn't be any riskier than minor surgery and my doctors said I could have those after six months of remission so two years sounds like they would approve from a safety view point.

LOL k thx! I'm also 31yrs. old when were you diagnosed?

When I was 14.

Tattoo was ok, apart from the PAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!

The man who was doing it said, 'oh, you'll never cope with childbirth then.'

Childbirth was a LOT easier hahaha (all c-secs) :biggrin1:

What are you having done?

I have three tatoos. i had two done before i was diagnosed and one while on my meds. the last one while on my meds the only problem is that I bleed heavy which made the color fade. i just got it touched up hoping the color stays better this time. have another one in mind just waiting to see how the ink stays with this one. good luck.
