Lately I'm experiencing more and more skin problems.
Have had little blisters on hands and feet that are now slowly disappearing, because of taking initial WG-medication again after months of medicinefree remission... I'm also using cortico-steroid ointment that my GP prescribed me. This ointment I'm using sparingly because I 'm afraid of getting irreversal thinning of the skin.

Also I have gotten a little purple spot under my eye. I cover it with concealer (make-up), so that it's not visible anymore, but still I worry if this is WG/GPA-related.
Also I've had a two little red bulbs that tend to peel off. One on my rightarm, and one on the skin right above my breasts. I don't like this development at all. Not only it is disfiguring but I also worry what will come next. Heavy skin involvement?

I know many Weggies report skin problems. So my question is, do you recognize any of these symptoms? How are your own skinproblems treated? Do you see a specialized dermatologist?

I think we've talked about this before, but I had a purple spot near the corner of my eye that I assume was actual necrosis and thinning of the skin and eventually a small hole formed in the skin over my ethmoid sinus. But your purple spot could be something totally different. I've had various red spots and rashes that have come and gone. The red bulbs sound odd. I hope someone else can help you more with treatment options.

There is a thread called 'Tiny Boils/Blisters on Fingers', maybe you're referring to that, Annekat.

My purple spot is fading away, pff... what a relief!
You say you 've had various spots and rashes. Did you consult a dermatologist about that?

You say you 've had various spots and rashes. Did you consult a dermatologist about that? No, I was referring to the purple spot near your eye, since I had posted something about the small hole in my skin that had formed in the location of a purplish spot near my eye. Someone, maybe you, mentioned a purple spot near the eye at that time. My memory is not good, though, and I've been wrong in my recollection of past discussions. If your purple spot is fading, that's good! If the skin under the spot doesn't look thin, it's probably not what I had. The rashes I've haven't been widespread and have resembled the description of the typical Wegs rash which often develops on the forearms. They would occur when I was stressed or lowering my pred dose, and then they'd disappear when I felt better, so I chalked it up to Wegs. Other spots I have are skin tags, which come with age, age spots, blood blisters, moles, and occasionally small out breaks of hives which clear up with hydrocortisone cream. I haven't consulted a dermatologist because none of it has been alarming enough to do so, and I feel I know the explanations for it. I do know that small bruises and injuries can take a lot longer to heal while immunosuppressed. I skinned my knee maybe 6 months ago, and although it healed, there is still a small purple spot there that just won't go away.

I've got really dry skin. I've had it before but seems to be worse this time and no amount of sos intensive moisturiser seems to be helping.

I also have red spots which form from blackheads on my armpit and upper thigh. I read somewhere this is an indicator of an auto immune disease, and there is a name for them but i cant remember! I've had them for years and never shown them to a doctor tho, which i know i should to get them treated.

I've also had a boil, this was before diagnosis and was incredibly painful and in a sensitive area!

You should definitely have a doctor check out all unusual skin changes.

My GP gave me a recommandation for a dermathologist, so I will be calling the polyclinic for an initial consult. It takes quite some time to get it all arranged, but I'm working on it.

Dry skin I 've had too from time to time, Freaky!
It seems to come and go with the Wegs-waves. The last week it's quite okay again, and I've got moisturizers from Clinique (allergy tested and fragance free) that seem to help.
Also use a cream my beauty specialist recommend me, and it's called 'Cell recovery cream'. (www.hannah.nl (http://www.hannah.nl))
