Ok, before I start I will say my disclaimer of - I am not advocating that anyone stop their treatment or doesn't have treatment at all, but is something I am getting very interested in, that being to treat autoimmune disease via nutrition - to complement your plan to stay healthy long term.

I've mentioned this before, the documentary Food Matters and recommend it: Welcome to 'Food Matters' - You Are What You Eat | FOODMATTERS (http://www.foodmatters.tv)

and there is an article here i just read: http://www.drfuhrman.com/library/nutrition_autoimmune.aspx

I think it is very interesting and something that at the very least, will not hurt to give a try alongside your drug therapy, and to also keep us well long term - that being, to optimize what we eat instead of just relying on drugs to combat Wegeners.

Please keep an open mind, whether you'd agree or not, no anti veg rants :)

In addition to MCC's suggestions, I've also found that simply following my 'new' tastes and desires for foods w/WG is a good indicator of foods I should and should not eat. Can't do chocolate anymore as, for some weird reason, it induces and irritates my dry cough. Stopped all chocolates, coughing reduced. Also many foods don't taste the same anymore for now...so I don't eat them. Have gone down 5 lbs recently, pred is tapered to 10mg/day. It's good! I think!! LOL...then again, just out of the hospital, I lost so much weight that I felt I needed to gain weight...forgot pred was going to help me out there...gained too much too fast...sheesh!
