So....a week ago yesterday, John had a followup with his nephrologist. They did a Urine test and they said the kidneys looked better! The I was contacted the next day stating that his blood work showed they were worse. So they switched Johns BP meds due to one having a higher chance of kidney damage when dehydrated. Sigh.....another case of the meds make you have more problems.
Anyway, they had him go back in and have blood drawn again this past Wednesday.
Side note: everytime I go grocery shopping (for a lot of stuff) we end up back at the hospital. Over the past month I have chosen to go as needed but not really stock up.
Back to my post.... Today I checked my email every 10 minutes because his dr said he would email me with the results. Since it had been a month since our last hospital visit and since John seemed to be doing so well I FINALLY decided to go grocery shopping. While in the store my phone rings and its a hospital number......
Seriously! On the other end was his dr stating that his crenatine (sp) were worse so he was admitting him in the hospital. I kinda laugh because I should've known!
So I go home, make dinner and then go...afterall John did want porkchops.
So here we are....alarms going off from IVs. Nurses coming in every 15 minutes. Urine samples. Stool samples. Blood test. ..... I use to have hope that it would evidentually get better but after 4 non stop months I find myself doubting that theory.
They are hoping he is just dehydrated. That maybe just this one time its a quick fix. I hope the same. I guess this one hurts the most because he is finally feeling good. Walking around. Eating again. Smiling. I just hope this hospital stay doesn't set him back.

I am sorry you are both having such hard time. I can only say that we all have had big swings in ups and downs before getting some relief. 4 months in this dreaded roller coaster disease is relatively a short time. Do not despair, it is sure to get better soon.

In the beginning my family thought hospital ward was home! and because it was always the same ward they always but me in the same bed . I was on first name terms with doctors and nurses. But it made it easier when I had to go back in in an emergency 18mths later as they were aware of my condition so knew what they could and could not do.They even gave me a side room of my own that time .
Hope this is only a short stay ,wishing you all best DEEx

I know all the nurses and docs here as well on a first name basis.

Looks like you and John are in for a life time of take-aways!!

Fingers crossed it's just a 'blip' and you get your man back home soon.

You are such a flirt Dee!!:wink1:

If he's feeling better, then I'd think it's maybe dehydration as you suggested. Feeling better is huge, that's the start of the improvement in my limited experience.

I hope things are okay now. Glad his doctor was on top of things.

I also vote for no more grocery trips for you. For Pete's sake!
