I hate the taste and wonder about what other side effects there may be from it? I find there is a little bit of extra dry coughing after the treatments. But it beats having PCP since I was told that with my medical history no bookmaker would give me any odds of surviving if I got it.

Anyone else on this med?

I just googled it. I thought that Bactrim was mainly used as a prophylactic against PCP.

Pentamadine is for people with allergy to sulfas or Bactrim. I do take the non sulfa part of Bactrim (trimethoprim) to prevent recurrent bladder infections.

I'm curious too...as I mentioned, I'm also allergic to Sulpha drugs. My doctor has mentioned Pentamadine as possibility. DRZ, how often do you have to take it?

Every four weeks. It takes about an hour or so.
