I talked to my doctor today regarding a abdominal hernia repair I need. Not only did she say go for it, she said I'm in remission (though not drug free yet). Needless to say I'm pretty happy about that. Just need to keep my fingers crossed now and hope this surgery doesn't cause any issues, but the pain is annoying so I'm looking forward to correcting it.

Yeaaaaahhhhhoooooo Bob! :fullofwin:
I'm so totally stoked for you! That's that magic moment we're all waiting for and it's so wonderful to hear that someone (you) right now is experiencing it. Keep that momentum going.

The operation will be on the 25th, look forward to getting that out of the way. I also met with a personal trainer last night and at the end of June he's going to help me get back into the gym without hurting myself hopefully :)

Ah, great! I change them about every week or two, just for fun.... All have some meaning to me and some have me in them, although you wouldn't necesarily know that.

I have a fascination with aeronautics and planes in general. I would love to fly supersonic some day. A friend of mine, who is quite wealthy, was able to fly on the Concorde several times. But I would rather fly in a F15 or SR71.

I didn't have a chance to go super sonic.... Except for training, all of my flying time was in the B-52. It doesn't do super sonic very well......:rolleyes1: It sure does go low and fast well, tho....

I spent most of my career flying an LDS6 (large steel desk with 6 drawers).....

Phil, I can see you in an SR71 - almost looks like the Batplane - with your cheeks flapping an inch behind your ears. Ha ha ha ha - I'm laughing right now just thinking about it.

vdub, is that you in this particular avatar? The reflection in the goggles looks like a small little cockpit, so maybe not, unless it's during training.... Oh the life you've lived.

Nope that wasn't me. The current avatar is me.... It's an old picture. I think I was 24 years old. That partciular plane was capable of super sonic, but we didn't go that fast. There's a lot of restrictions on when you can break people's windows, scare the cows, and stuff like that. My military career was the best part of my life, but I fall way short of being any kind of hero. Even at that, I have a lot of good stories. The stories get particularly good after several beers.....

vdub, you are a hero just being on this Forum and sharing your story. You are more than welcome to come here and share your stories, we have plenty of beer.

Pilot I assume from the picture? I worked with BUFFs when I was in too. Was stationed in Wurtsmith in Michigan (and in Saudi Arabia during Desert Storm). That plane could do amazing things when they didn't have so many restrictions on the pilots :)
