I have always assumed your avatar is a photo of you. then you mentioned your age the other day and clearly it is not. I feel stupid as i recognize this guy but who in the heck is it?

A hero of mine!

Although I am only 56 I look older than the Avatar due to the ravages of Prednisolone and other problems! (massive weight loss)
I'm quite sensitive about it and avoid having photographs taken.

You would probably have to if you wanted to hear all the verses! :wink1: I think it is still a work in progress.

No pictures here either!! I was just starting to look like myself again and now I am back on the prednisone so that ended that. My daughter is graduating in May and I was looking forward to some normal pictures of us together. Everyone says I can't worry about that but it bothers me and I can't help it.

"Hey, That's No Way to Say Goodbye," ......one of my personal favorites. And Jack, you sell yourself short if Cohen is a hero, you obviously have very good taste indeed.

~Cheers!

Leonard Cohen.

How many people on here have been fortunate enough to hear him live?

So fortunate to see him at the last big Isle of WIght festival along with over 500,000 others.

Picture the scene..its very late, pitch dark and then the simple guitar opening to "Suzanne" cuts thru the night sky..still gives me goose bumps 40 years on.

You beat me to it - I get there in November. Not sure if the 'beautifully formed' works for me - my picture is testament to that!

Now Phil, please, no more agism comments....... - if it was not for WG I'd like to think I would feel pretty much as I did when I was in my thirties!!!!

I've previously mentioned this to Jack in an e-mail, but just so that I can publicly claim my rightful place among the aging crowd herein (66 next month) - - I have the great good fortune to have spent much time in Greenwhich Village in NYC during the mid and late sixties. Used to go often to the Whitehorse which was a favorite drinking hole for poets, writers and folk singers. Got to hear a young Leonard read his poetry from time to time and even had an associate of mine produce his first album in 1967. The man sure can write!

Can Wegeners turn you green?..If not then I have a bad case of envy!!
