Hello everyone, I'm typing for my wife who is still in the hospital here in Morristown, NJ. She is 28, born in Brooklyn, NY and 100% of Puerto Rican desent. They have diagnosed her with Wegs and the tricky part is she is 5 months pregnant with our second son. She is scared but happy to know what it is that she has. They diagnosed her on Thursday when her first chest scans on Monday showed something weird. We feel truly blessed that they found it so fast (4 days) after the myriad of tests and blood work and the number of specialists that were involved in her diagnosis. She has acute sinus problems, infection, granulated sunis tissue. The prednazone seems to working well for her and she may be released later today. She can finally breathe thru her nose afer weeks of suffering. She was first diagnosed with a sinus infection 3 weeks ago, after 2 weeks of Augmentin there was little to no relief. A chest pain which was thought to be a pulmonary embolism after xrays and CT scans was the lucky imagery that revelaed the nodules on her lungs and the blood tests that confirmed WG. A biopsy will most likely be done in a few months after our son is born. We look forward to being active members of the forum and learning to deal with her illness. Thanks for the Support Forum!!!

Hi Joel and Evelyn,
How great that you've found this forum so soon after Evelyn's diagnosis! Good thing she got diagnosed so quickly.

Are Evelyn's docs skilled with Wegs (ie, they treat it A LOT)? Is she on anything else beside pred? Also, I'm sure they've discussed it with you, but it would be important to work with an obstetrician who specializes in high-risk pregnancies to keep Evelyn and your new son safe.

hi joel and evelyn.as sangye said it's good it was diagnosed so quickly.months of not knowing what's wrong while you feel worse and worse can be just as debilitating as the disease itself.come back soon to let us know how evelyn is doing.

Hi Joel...
Welcome to the forum. You were both indeed very lucky that it was diagnosed so quickly. Really good thing! As Sangye said, find an OB that specialises in risky pregnancies. Eveyn and your new son need to be monitored closely.

Did Evelyn get released on schedule?
