Just started this today. And I am to take 6 pills one day a week. But I'm not sure if I'm supposed to take all six at once or space them out, anyone have any input? I tried to call my doctor, but yet again got immediately put on hold and I'm starting to get really tired of that.

I took them all at once so unless otherwise advised, 'wang' them down your throat good buddy:razz:

I took them all at once as well, but at night in case of stomach aches or nausea.

I was on 10 a week - taken together. I usually took them in the evening - for some reason I hated them with a passion! They subsequently failed me after about 9 months and I am back on Cyclophosphamide now - not sure which is worse!

I started with 8 pills per week. Took all at once. Tried for 2 weeks but stomachache and nausea was horrible, started injection the 3rd week. Good luck Psyborg!

I got all my drowsiness and some dizziness back with the MTX that was gone the last couple days after stopping CTX. Bummer :( Hopefully It'll be just the one day a week though.

I'm on 4 pills because of my liver. Had some tiredness and mild nausea at the beginnning, but now after 1 year all seems well. I have one more year to go. Take all at once Sunday morning.

Hi all from cold Meditarean Sea. Did well on two 4 1/2 hr tours but scared of a 9 1/2 hr Rome trip tomorrow because of my feet and hip.

Hi Psyborg,

I have been on methotrexate for over 11 years - At first I took half the tabs one day and the other half the next as felt nauseous but eventually took them all on one day only, plus folic acid every day. Have been in remission since then, but still with fingers crossed !! I wish everyone on this site the same luck I've had so far.

(I know that little black WG dog could just be having a long nap !! )

Well I *think* the MTX is going to be a short term thing for me. I have preexisting issues with my liver so I know it probably can't take the beating long term, but the Doctor believes my liver numbers are so good now that we can take the risk as the MTX is the best next step in treatment. I must admit that makes me somewhat nervous. My next follow up is next week so I'm going to make sure I let her know I don't think this can be more than a short term solution.

Weird thing though...no pain at all today. The head rush yesterday from the MTX is also mostly gone. I'm thinking it actually appears to work more profoundly than the CTX did for me.

Sounds good Psyborg. I take seven, all at once, right after breakfast every Monday. Have never had any side effects whatsoever. Been on it since March.

Great Psyborg, if it works you are on home stretch.
Rome was good but pretty pooped at the end. Pompeii next day was fantastic. More when we land.

Hey Jolanta,
I just got back from the Mediterranean. I was worried about the tours, too - with my truckload of drugs and awaiting a hip replacement - but I was fine. We toured Rome on our own, but it was for 10 hours and was fabulous. Enjoy!

So glad you had a great time gutless! I love to go to Rome some day, I would eat a loaf a bread a day!

The pizza in Italy is really something special, so simple, but so tasty!
However, you must avoid the tourist areas or they are rubbish.

Had my follow up today and reminded the Doctor that I had Cirrhosis issues. So she wants my last biopsy (where it was diagnosed) and has told me to not take any more MTX until she gets back to me. She had me get a genetic blood test for another treatment, but didn't mention what it was...kinda curious now.

On the bright side everything is going well and even the Pred reduction seems a bit less problematic now. I really think the CTX was messing me up way more than I realized it was.

I had to wait for a blood test to come back before taking Imuran , he said it had something to do with how body deals with Enzynes (sp)

That's probably it, she did mention Imuran previously before we tried MTX.
