View Full Version : Diagnosed One Year ago Today

I've been a Weggie for one year, today. I was diagnosed 10-23-09. The one thing I learned over this past year is you must find the right doctors in order to survive & thrive. I spent the first six months of this past year under the care of doctors who had little knowledge of Wegener's, the treatments for Wegener's, and the drugs used to treat Wegener's. In April 2010 I went to see a VF recommended specialist and things improved. I have been in the hospital once since under the care of the VF recommended specialist and that was so he could clean up the mess the other doctors made. I now see my specialist and the rheumatologist he works with when he has a WG patient every two months. Its good to be home with my wife and girls today as opposed to where I was a year ago. Enjoy today, here in Mississippi it ia a beautiful Fall day, and be thankful for all you have. I will say a prayer for all Weggies tonight.

WG Rebel, Happy anniversary and 1st birthday of the second life we all share. Your post really touched a chord, thank you.
It's a crazy ride when you look back at it, and I hope that it goes smooth like butta (like we say in the old country) in the next year and so on for many many more years to come.
Thanks for the prayer and may it come back at you tenfold.
