I am now starting my sixth month of treatment for Wegs and I can't thank my Doc enough for getting to a Rheumy who introduced me to a Nephro who put me on a short leash for these 5 months. I spent 4 days in a hospital early in the treatment and found out more about my physical well-being than in the previous 35 years. The acute renal failure is not quite back to normal and it may never get back to normal but it is at an acceptable creatinin level (1.28). The spots noted in my lungs on the first CT scan are now barely perceptible 4 months later. The anemia is resolving with the impoved kidney function but the vasculitis in my feet/ankles remain making working in a Cleveland ER difficult to say the least. Now only taking 15 mg of prednisone food does taste much better and I am gaining back some of the weight I lost. I traded in the Cytoxin and I am now taking Imuran. And I won't miss the weekly blood work with the cute vampires at the lab.( now at bi-monthly lab draws and may go to monthly--hooray) I still don't have either the strenghth or stamina back yet but I'll keep working on them. ( Thanks for the Birthday wishes Andrew)
