So, I was listening to a radio show talking about the cause of Beethoven's illness and young death. If you can go to the wikipedia page on him you can see some of the details. But looking at it I'm wondering if he had Wegener's. They have speculated on other autoimmune diseases.
Just the odditiies. His deafness was caused by tinitis, and when they autopsied him they found distended ear drums with lessions on them.
He also had significant organ damage, and suffered from what he called inflamatory fevers. I dunno...sounds like some matches to me
We were looking for a famous Weggie in other threads...maybe this is one? Though it'd be almost impossible to confirm that I'd think.

It wouldn't mean much of anything if it was what caused is failing health, and I don't know that it's provable. It'd be a great way to shine light on our disease though.
